I designed a series of business cards in Adobe InDesign that reflect my personal identity through fonts, colors, and my custom logo. My logo is a butterfly formed from my initials “JP”. It represents both creativity and growth, which are important to me as a marketing major. I used this logo consistently across all designs to create a cohesive personal brand while still exploring different visual styles.

I began by sketching out 10 ideas to experiment with different compositions. Each card uses different fonts to communicate slightly different tones. For example, in some designs I chose clean, simple fonts to create a modern and minimal look, which helps keep the information clear and professional. In other versions, I used more decorative or rounded fonts to make the design feel more playful. I also experimented with script-style fonts in some concepts to give a more elegant feel. These font choices allowed me to explore how typography can change the mood and message of a design.
Color was another important element in my work. I used soft pinks and greens to create a calm and feminine aesthetic, while also incorporating bolder blue tones in other versions to add contrast and variety. I also paid attention to contrast between text and background to make sure it's easy to read.
I experimented with both horizontal and vertical layouts, as well as different placements of text and logo. Some designs are more minimal, focusing on simplicity, while others include repeated shapes to add variation. Overall, this project helped me understand how typography, color, and layout can help create a consistent brand while also exploring creative variations.
